Giovanni Zanchetta

Project Leader

He has a full position as researcher at Earth Science Department of the University of Pisa since the 2005 for geochemistry and volcanology. Since completing the undergraduate thesis, he has focused his researches on the isotopic composition of continental and marine carbonates with different origin (i.e. pedogenic carbonates, cave carbonates, lake marls, landsnails, freshwater and marine shells), with the aim to understand how different environments respond to climatic changes during the Quaternary, and which complementary information they can preserve. He is involved in several national and international researches for reconstructing paloclimate in Mediterranean, Balkans, Siberia, and Patagonia areas.
