Monica Bini

She is a geomorphologist. She graduated in 1998 at Pisa University, and achieved a PhD in 2005 (title of dissertation: Geosites as cultural heritage: significance management and promotion). She is currently Research Fellow at Pisa University with which she has collaborated on a continuing basis since 1999. She is doing research concerning coastal geomorphology and geoarchaeology, in particular the employment of geo-archaeological and geomorphological markers for coastline evolution assessment and sea level change studies. She has taken part in National and International geomorphology and geoarchaeology projects dealing with geomorphological-based paleogeographic reconstructions and georadar survey applications for the definition of stratigraphy and/or buried structures. Her main areas of study are: the Apuan-Versilia coastal plain (Italy), the archaeological site of Luni (La Spezia, Italy), the city center of Pisa (Italy) and the coastal plain of the Argentinean Patagonia.
