Gabriella Boretto

Geologist. Phd student, Geological Sciencies, University of Córdoba, Argentina. Her main interest is understanding the paleoenvironmental evolution of the Patagonian marine coastal area during the Quaternary based on geomorphological and paleontological evidences. She is particularly interested in recognizing geomorphic and geological units, to provide surface geological data as a basis for environmental and climatic interpretations. To determine which marine isotope stage link the different marine terraces and beach ridges considering marine geochemical studies carried out in mollusk shells. Also, through sclerochronology and geochemical analysis, by microsampling in alternating bands of fossil and modern bivalves, determine its isotopic composition, and then use it as a proxy, hoping to monitor the seasonal variation of temperature and salinity. This way of interpreting the history of climate changes that occurred in this sector over the last 400,000 years.
